How to Get to the Venue

Arrival by Bus

The 4/13 bus departs from Konstanz and stops near the entrance to Mainau Island. This service operates as a circular route: buses labelled 4/13 travel in one direction, while buses labelled 13/4 operate in the opposite direction through the surrounding villages before arriving at Mainau Island. For participants staying in Konstanz, the 4/13 route is generally the fastest connection.

Bus timetables are available on Google Maps, the Deutsche Bahn website, and in the Constance mobility app “Mein Konstanz”. Tickets can be purchased via the app or directly from the bus driver.

Arrival by Bike

The island is located directly on the Lake Constance Cycle Route. There are places to park your bicycle in front of the entrance to the island.

You can also use the KONRAD bicycle rental system to get to the entrance of Mainau Island. One of 15 rental stations is located at the island entrance. Here is more information in German.

There is an electric charging station in the car park on Mainau Island, which can be accessed as follows: RFID-Card of Stadtwerke Konstanz, ladenetz.de, The New Motion or via ladepay.

Changing rooms for motorcyclists are available in the car park as well.

Parking on the mainland car park costs €6. Parking is also possible on the island with prior registration.

Important Information

The conference will take place at the “Comturey”, located near the harbour on Mainau Island. A map of the island can be downloaded here: map of Mainau Island (p. 5). On the map, the venue is marked as No. 73. It is located on the opposite side of the island from the main entrance.

After arriving at the island entrance, allow approximately 15-20 minutes to reach the venue.

The island is generally accessible on foot only. A local shuttle service is available on site if needed. However, it may be busy and therefore should not be relied upon for timely arrival at the venue.

Arrangements are currently being explored for conference participants with limited mobility. Participants who may require assistance are kindly asked to contact the organizing team directly.
